Dharma Wisdom

If we become sick, poor, friendless, or meet with terrible accidents; if we are ignored, slandered, or physically assaulted; if we suffer mental anguish, depression and so on, we should remember the teachings on karma and immediately recognise that all these difficult situations are the result of our own past negative actions. We should try and learn from adversities and think: ‘my experiencing these adverse conditions is a reminder that if I want to be free from sufferings they bring I must purify the negative actions that I have accumulated. These misfortunes themselves are encouraging me to purify my negativities.

An excerpt from the book “Universal Compassion” by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

Improve your life with meditation
Escape from the busyness of modern life by discovering the ancient art of Buddhist meditation. Create an inner space and tranquility free from the turbulence of modern living.

   Meditation helps you:
  • increase positive states of mind
  • reduce stress and anxiety
  • experience greater contentment and well-being
  • improve concentration
  • develop better relationships
  • and, maintain greater physical health

"The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful we shall be free from worries and mental discomfort, and we shall experience true happiness; but if our mind is not peaceful we shall find it very difficult to be happy, even if we are living in the very best conditions. If we train in meditation our mind will gradually become more and more peaceful, and we shall experience a purer and purer form of happiness. Eventually, we shall be happy all of the time, even in the most difficult circumstances." - Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

Whether you are a Buddhist or not, everyone is welcome.
Everyone can benefit from learning to cultivate and maintain inner peace through meditation.
